Jill and Eric Wolford started Caring Community Foundation after Jill’s bout with cancer. While she had excellent health insurance and the financial resources to navigate this period, the experience highlighted the financial difficulties that many cancer patients face while undergoing treatment. After raising $724 at a backyard barbeque in June 2000, Jill and Eric gave the money to a local cancer patient in need. This started a philanthropic effort that resulted in the establishment of Caring Community Foundation.

By alleviating some of the stress that goes with financial insecurity, Caring Community Foundation’s goal is to help cancer patients focus on their health and recovery.
